Honey Lavender Tea Latte

Dim the lights. Cue the instrumentals. Break out the lavender.

Commence ultimate relaxation with a garden fresh honey lavender tea latte.

Using fresh lavender (dried in the oven, hung, or dehydrated) you can brew up some really calming herbal tea.

What you'll need:

  • Your favorite mug

  • Kettle

  • Tea Infuser

  • Water

  • Dried Lavender

  • Milk

  • Honey

^ (Local, please! Did you know? Some "name brands" of honey aren't actually 100% from the bees? Much of those bear-shaped bottles are filled with ingredients like corn syrup to mimic honey - this means a lack of nutrients, and money being spent on a product you aren't really receiving. Go local - do it for those hardworking bees!)

  1. Boil the water in the kettle on the stove. Once boiling, place the lavender in the tea infuser, and then let it rest in your mug with water 3/4 of the way up. Steeping time is usually 3-5 minutes (don't let your cup get go cold - however, this recipe is also great on ice).

  2. While the lavender is steeping, heat up the 1/3 a cup of milk (whole) and 2 tablespoons of honey, swirl together until they are mixed completely.

  3. Top the steeped tea with the milk & honey mixture and you'll find yourself in a smooth, soothing high-tea time.

Perfect for porchin' or curling up to read the next chapter in the Farmer's Almanac (or more of my wordy posts!).

If you have a frothier, the milk can be made cappuccino style for a little foam on the top (I enjoy it this way).
